Myanmar Coast Guard Rescues Crew from Sinking Fish Transport Vessel

On September 10, 2026, at approximately 6:20 AM, reports indicated that a fish transport vessel named “Toe Toe Lwin (99)” was sinking due to water ingress in Myanmar waters. The incident occurred roughly 80 miles southeast of Yangon, Yangon Region (about 37 miles southeast of the Dagon Lighthouse).

Following the report, a fast patrol vessel (P 317) from the Myanmar Coast Guard, which was conducting maritime security operations in the area, coordinated with nearby local fishing boats to launch a rescue mission. Rescuers successfully brought 11 individuals from the sinking vessel aboard and provided them with necessary medical treatment.

Authorities subsequently conducted the required verification process to ensure the rescued individuals could be transferred to relevant agencies in accordance with standard operating procedures. The systematic transfer was completed on September 11.
